Is a Tinnitus formula for you?
I am a person that thinks carefully before I try any new vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc. I realize that taking anything in moderation is good, but taking an added amount of one particular thing every day may lead to an overabundance in your body. Over the years I have settled on a few supplements that work well for me and that I consume on a regular basis. One of the supplements that I take on a daily basis is a formula for Tinnitus.
Oh My Ringing Ears!!
I have been affected by ringing ears for 5-6 years now and have found it to be extremely distracting and irritating. Of course my visits to an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) doctor resulted in the diagnoses of Tinnitus. If you’ve been diagnosed with Tinnitus then you already know that it is an extremely frustrating ailment.
Symptoms of Tinnitus
It seems that each individual has their own assessment of what Tinnitus sounds like, and not all hear the same noises. Some common descriptions from affected individuals include ringing, hissing, whooshing, buzzing, whistling, clicking and many others. In my particular instance, I always hear the ringing and it is continuous. At times it will increase or decrease in volume, but it is always there. It does seem louder when I am in a quiet environment – due of course to the fact that other noise detracts from the ringing. Other people cannot hear this noise, as it is internal only.
Are These Symptoms Always Related to Tinnitus?
Well, the short answer is no. While the most common cause of tinnitus is prolonged exposure to extremely loud noise (chainsaws, jackhammers, loud music), there are many other health issues that cause ringing or buzzing ears. For example, I have a family history of benign tumors in the middle ear, so when I first heard the ringing I was sent for an MRI to determine if there were underlying causes. Other health issues that can cause these symptoms include high blood pressure, meniere’s disease, temporomandibular joint (TMJ), thyroid disease, and many others. So if you have tinnitus symptoms, please do not ignore them!
Tinnatus affects more than 50 million adults in the United States. Many cases of tinnitus can be resolved if they are caused by an accompanying medical issue. For example if your tinnitus is caused by TMJ, then treating the TMJ may improve and/or eliminate the tinnitus. However, there are few options for those of us that have tinnitus unrelated to medical issues. Some physicians will prescribe a mild anti-anxiety medication. Many individuals will purchase a sound machine for sleeping, since the soothing sounds will mask the tinnitus noise. Other options include biofeedback and cognitive therapy. If your tinnitus is severe then you will want to explore these and any other options with your physician.
My Experience & Recommendation
Shortly after my tinnatus was diagnosed I picked up a brochure on the Arches Tinnitus Formula product and decided to try it. After a few weeks time I noticed that my ringing, although always present, took on a lower volume and was not nearly as distracting. That was about 4-5 years ago and I have been taking it every day since! I feel like my tinnitus is very manageable and I can live with this level of noise. You should know that if I stop taking this formula then within a few days I have a noticeable increase in my symptoms. So, I just make sure that I always have a supply!
I am sure that this supplement will not work on everyone with tinnitus, but it is definitely work trying as you could be one of the more fortunate ones (like me). If you decide to try this product, read all of the materials first and always notify your doctor.
